Project Engineer - Utilities

Overview

Project Engineer (Utilities) – Tucson, AZ. This role is responsible for preparing detailed design drawings and contract documents for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including water supply, distribution, collection systems, storage tanks, booster stations, and sewer lift stations. The position includes providing preliminary engineering and final design, with experience in hydraulic analysis, profile design, and understanding of survey and rights of way requirements. Leadership skills are needed to work with the design team. Experience in master planning and sewer and water rehabilitation is a plus.

Accountabilities

• Prepare construction plans, technical specifications, technical studies and reports.
• Lead / organize and manage small teams of personnel (EITs, designers, and drafters).
• Provide quality reviews of own work and work by EITs / designers.
• Assist project manager in preparing and managing project schedules and budgets.
• Attend and participate in client meetings.
• Assist in developing marketing proposals (prepare technical understanding and approach).
• Assist in construction administration of projects, including reviewing and responding to contractor submittals, RFIs and change order requests.
• Evaluate company practices and provide input for continuous improvement.
• Participate in the execution of the company strategic plan.
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
