Unit Overview : Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you'll care for a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program .High volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases.As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , our unit offers exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

Required to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, and reach frequently during the workday.Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from the floor to waist level.Can lift 20 lbs. overhead and carry 40 lbs. a short distance.Ability to push or pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform sliding transfers safely.May be exposed to hazardous materials and biohazardous fluids; appropriate protective equipment will be provided.Must possess functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch abilities for patient interaction and IV insertion.Responsible for the operation of all necessary equipment for the role.This job description outlines the general nature and level of work expected.
