As a Special Forces Candidate, you’ll be training to become a Green Beret, one of the most highly skilled Soldiers in the world. To join the Army elite, you must complete extensive mental and physical training. There are four entry-level Special Forces Military Occupational Specialties, and your specialty will be determined based on your background, aptitude, and the needs of the Army. Requirements U.S. Citizen High School Diploma or GED Must meet tattoo guidelines No major law violations No significant medical concerns Must be at least 20 years old by ship date and not have turned 30 prior to departure (application process can begin at age 18) Training & Certifications 22 weeks of Infantry One Station Unit Training 4 weeks of Special Operations Forces Preparation Course and the Special Forces Assessment & Selection Course, following Airborne School 110 ASVAB Score : General Technical (GT) 100 ASVAB Score : Combat (CO) Skills You'll Learn Evasion Physical & Mental Strength Weapons Operations More To Consider The 18X program offers a path to citizenship for Lawful Permanent Residents, allowing them to begin training immediately. Citizenship is required for a secret security clearance, but candidates can apply for expedited naturalization if they have held a valid Green Card (I-551 Permanent Resident Card) for at least six months.
