We have a Controls Engineer position available in our Hampton, NH office. This position is responsible for controls engineering project requirements involving control panel design, RTU, SCADA, & PLC programming, networking, databases, instrumentation, check-out support, and start-up assistance for applications used in the Power Utility and Industrial market.
Major Responsibilities :
Clarifies and documents an understanding of the customer and Senior Engineer's requirements for a given system. Maintains current customer relationships to promote repeat businessDevelops Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), Test Plans, Software Design Specifications (SDS), and support documentation for successful job design, implementation, and completionDesign, develop, and implement control systems (logic software and hardware) to meet machine and integrated system requirementsDevelops control architecture and network architecture documents and provides network design including IP schemes and network switch configurationDevelops control logic software and user interface applications in control systems, using hardware and instrument components, integrated with ladder logic programming, SCADA, RTU, and other IED programming. Has a strong familiarity with work with database tools such as SQLSelects the correct hardware and software components to complete the project. Familiar with process instrumentsDevelops schematics detailing control system configuration and wiring, and design equipment panel layouts using AutoCAD softwareAssists with initial start-up and debug integrated systems and the development of system documentationWorks with automation and control system integration projects for clients in multiple industries such as Power Utility, Food, or SemiconductorGeneral administration such as paperwork, copying, printing, faxing, and using a computerAssists with assembling and wiring control panelsJob Requirements :
Education -BSEE or BS Controls is preferred. Other related technical bachelor of science degrees or an AA in Engineering Technology or equivalent with equivalent experience may be substituted.Experience3 to 5 years of directly related experience in Energy, Power Utility, and Industrial Manufacturing.
Ability to travel up to 30%.Physical Demands of Position Seeing, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, climbing, ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling
Working Conditions Standard office environment, on-site office environment, and diverse industrial and Power Plant / Utility, switchyard environments with frequent PC usage, fax machines, copy machines, phones, and constant people interactions
