Job Description
The Sandwich Maker / Line Cook is responsible for building the world’s greatest hot sandwich while consistently following the proper recipes and procedures, and adhering to Earl of Sandwich’s high standards regarding food presentation, cleaning and sanitation.
Each Sandwich Maker / Line Cook must be comfortable working in a team environment where they ensure the needs of our guests are the number one priority so that we may deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Sandwich Maker (Meat & Cheese) Reads the printed chit or KDS screen for sandwiches to prepare. Sandwiches are made in the order they appear on the chit or KDS screen.
The meat / cheese sandwich maker then cuts the Earl’s loaf leaving a 1 / 8th inch hinge; applies the appropriate sauce, meat / cheese and seasoning (if applicable) per EOS Sandwich build specifications, then places the Sandwich into the oven to bake.
This position is also responsible for maintaining the Meat / Cheese area. Sandwich Maker (Dress & Wrap) Removes the baked Sandwich from the oven and checks to ensure EOS bake standards have been attained.
Applies lettuce, tomato and other cold items in an appropriate manner and per EOS Sandwich build specifications. Then the Sandwich is cut at a 45-degree angle across the width of the Sandwich.
Place the appropriate Sandwich label sticker to the front corner of the Gold Foil wrap. The Sandwich is placed on the middle of the wrap and wrapped to ensure that the Gold Brick is created.
The Sandwich is then placed in the appropriate size bag in the same order as they are listed on the printed chit or the KDS monitor.
This position is also responsible for maintaining the Dress / Wrap area.
- Prepare high quality, cravable items per specifications.
- Follows Orders as indicated on KDS or printed chit
- Demonstrates knowledge of the brand and menu items
- Understands and demonstrates Food Safety procedures
- Maintains cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant and ensures proper set up and / or breakdown of the entire restaurant including dining room, kitchen, prep areas and restrooms.
- Assists with stocking, cleaning and maintenance duties as needed
- Assists with all other sandwich line duties as needed

This position will also be responsible for providing excellent Guest service by greeting each Guest with a friendly, welcoming appropriate greeting such as : Welcome to Earl of Sandwich, what would you like today?
ensuring that all entrée items are entered into the POS accurately and that payments are processed accurately, up-selling sides, desserts and drinks, and engage Guests in topics regarding the Company’s loyalty program and inviting Guests to provide their feedback using the Company’s online survey.
- Answers the telephone within 3 rings and with a smile in his / her voice
- Takes the Guests order and handles cash and credit transaction accurately
- General math skills
- Maintain Proper Cash Handling Procedures as defined by the Company
- Maintain all cash handling documentation for their drawer
- Enters order accurately into the POS system
