Summary
The Family Medicine Physician serves as a primary care provider for individuals across the lifespan, delivering comprehensive, continuous, and compassionate care. This role emphasizes preventive health, chronic disease management, and treatment of acute conditions, all through a holistic, patient-centered approach. The position is hybrid, with responsibilities split between hospital-based care and outpatient clinics, requiring flexibility and collaboration across care settings to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments through physical examinations and history-taking
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging
- Diagnose medical conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients on preventive care strategies such as screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle modifications
- Refer patients to appropriate medical specialists as needed
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient medical records in accordance with legal and ethical standards
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and institutional policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdepartmental collaboration
- Familiarity with laws and regulations related to infection control, patient safety, privacy protection, pain management and opioid prescribing.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institutionBoard Certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (required)Active and unrestricted state medical license (required)Valid DEA registration for prescription of controlled substancesSuccessful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)Compliant with annual CME requirementsExperience
Prior clinical experience in family medicine, primary care, or a similar setting preferredDemonstrated history of delivering high-quality, patient-centered careRequired Skills & Competencies
