Lab Technician -Grossing Tech

Overview

The Lab Technician -Grossing Tech is responsible for demonstrating skill and accuracy in grossing specimens and / or microtomy and mounting tissue samples onto slides, consistently meeting or exceeding established productivity benchmarks. Additional responsibilities may include specimen accessioning, embedding, slide tray preparation, and the filing and organization of tissue blocks and slides. The Lab Technician also plays a key role in maintaining overall laboratory organization and cleanliness. Specific duties may vary depending on shift assignments and departmental needs.

Schedule : 40 hours, Mon - Fri, 10am -6 : 30pm

Responsibilities

Patient Tissue Grossing and / or Microtomy

Must meet minimum efficiency requirement of grossing 40 shave biopsy specimens per hour consistently without errors.

Must meet minimum efficiency requirement of cutting 20-25 blocks per hour consistently without errors.
