Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in processing and maintaining financial records, handling invoices, and ensuring accuracy in our accounts payable processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in manufacturing and a strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.

Responsibilities :

• Process and code invoices accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Reconcile accounts, including bank and credit card statements, to maintain financial accuracy.
• Prepare and execute check runs, ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers.
• Manage and organize packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders to ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
• Handle sales tax preparation and filing in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with the finance team to address discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Perform data entry tasks to ensure accurate and efficient recording of financial transactions.
• Generate financial reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and team members to resolve invoice-related inquiries. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for financial record management.
• Strong understanding of invoice coding, check runs, and reconciliation processes.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
• Familiarity with handling complex invoicing scenarios, such as multiple purchase orders.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• A degree in accounting or a related field is preferred but not required.
