Job Description

Job Title : Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Profession : Nursing

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Valid State of Maine or compact Licensed Practical Nurse license

• Medical terminology knowledge preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to cover shifts 24 / 7
• Willingness to float to other units as needed

Description :

The LPN will partner with residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include providing direct and indirect care.

The role involves working with residents, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia, and tailoring care to meet their unique needs.

Understanding and applying both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques is essential.

Being aware of difficult behaviors that may arise in residents with cognitive impairments is important.

The LPN will deliver needed care to residents requiring long-term placement in a home-like environment.

Nursing services will also encompass skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for those recovering from various conditions.

This includes IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of specific requirements.
