Job description

The Area Practice Manager serves as a strategic leader, providing comprehensive direction, oversight, and operational management for multiple dermatology facilities within a designated region. This role encompasses the development and implementation of clinical quality initiatives and staffing strategies to ensure alignment with PhyNet's overarching goals of delivering superior patient care, exceptional service, and achieving optimal financial performance.

As a key driver of operational excellence, the Area Practice Manager collaborates closely with clinical and administrative teams to enhance efficiency, maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This position requires a dynamic combination of leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise to meet and exceed organizational objectives.

Salary Range : $60,000 -$70,000 annually with Benefits.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee clinic operations to achieve corporate objectives related to service delivery, associate engagement, and patient satisfaction, fostering a culture of quality care and exceptional customer service while supporting physicians' needs.
  • Develop and implement clinical quality goals, metrics, and processes across the practice to ensure consistency, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage clinic operations, including systems management, budgeting, materials procurement, human resources, data processing, and facility maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for CLIA-waived labs and pathology labs, consistently exceeding quality benchmarks.
  • Supervise daily operations, including patient registration, cash collection, charge preparation, and referral / authorization management.
  • Attain a comprehensive understanding of dermatology procedures, including clinic visits, surgical operations, pathology lab processes, and cosmetic treatments, to support providers, patients, and financial goals.
  • Contribute to the development of corporate goals, policies, and strategies.
  • Promote cost-effective, high-quality healthcare services while maintaining high levels of patient and client satisfaction.
  • Foster a motivated and positive work environment for clinic staff.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental and third-party payer requirements and uphold standards for quality care.
  • Develop operational plans and budgets, including revenue forecasts, workload projections, and resource requirements, ensuring the financial and logistical viability of clinics.
  • Implement marketing strategies, assist with corporate initiatives, promote clinic services, and manage public relations and referral relationships.
  • Resolve organizational conflicts while protecting professional and legal rights.
  • Address facility and staffing concerns, analyze, and improve workflows, and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Recommend and oversee facility improvements, including renovations and equipment acquisitions.
  • Communicate policies, objectives, and operational procedures effectively to staff.
  • Recruit, train, and develop center personnel, including setting performance goals and managing promotions, merit increases, and disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with other administrators and senior management to establish relationships with third-party payers, clients, and government agencies.
  • Consult with medical staff to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Represent clinics at professional meetings, conferences, and public events.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and pursue continuous development to stay informed about healthcare administration trends.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and perform related duties as needed.

Requirements :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare administration required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience : Minimum of five (5) years as a healthcare practice administrator in a medium-to-large physician group, with dermatology experience preferred.
  • Technical Expertise : Proficient in financial planning, budget management, trend analysis, and financial reporting. Familiarity with healthcare policies, regulations, and administrative systems.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities. Demonstrated capacity to motivate and work collaboratively with staff and providers.
  • Analytical Abilities : Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to interpret complex data and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in healthcare administration software and Microsoft Office applications.
