About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Head of Underwriting Operations to spearhead the strategic and operational development of our startup Managing General Agent (MGA) or Managing General Underwriter (MGU) in the commercial insurance sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial insurance underwriting, specifically in property and casualty lines. You will have a proven track record in establishing and leading an MGA / MGU, driving innovative solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Your key responsibilities will include :

• Developing and executing a comprehensive vision for the MGA / MGU.
• Establishing underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, and growth targets.
• Overseeing underwriting management and portfolio performance.
• Driving business development initiatives and team building strategies.
• Conducting market analysis and implementing effective risk management practices.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance market dynamics and excellent leadership and communication skills. Proficiency in technology and data analytics is essential to advance underwriting decisions and streamline operations.
