MCAA Coordinator

The MCAA Coordinator for Outreach and Admissions is responsible for working with the Department of MCAA and the Graduate Admissions Office in helping accepted students through the enrollment process and conducting outreach in order to successfully meet targeted academic and recruitment goals. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university.

Essential duties and responsibilities include : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily :

  • Build and maintain partnerships with the State CIF Office as well as CIF Regional Offices.
  • Coordinate MCAA partnership with CSADA as well as MCAA involvement in the annual CSADA Convention held in April.
  • Coordinate and facilitate our partnership with iHeart Media. This includes hosting them on our campus annually, supplying marketing materials to them, and arranging podcast guests for interviews.
  • Manage and facilitate our partnership with the Orange County Athletic Directors Association (OCADA) and potentially other similar organizations in California that would serve the interests of MCAA well.
  • Attend conventions, conferences, and events for both recruitment and promotion purposes. Examples include special events and conferences in California and throughout the nation such as the Texas High School Coaches Association Convention held every July.
  • Work with MCAA alumni throughout California and the nation to encourage MCAA awareness, promotion, and recruitment.
  • Manage MCAA's quarterly newsletter sent to alumni, faculty, staff, students, and potential students.
  • Represents the University to prospective students and the public with the highest degree of professionalism through an array of outreach programs and activities.
  • In coordination with the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruiting, plan and implement recruitment strategies and activities to find, attract, and recruit new students to the university.
  • Advises perspective students regarding educational opportunities, admissions requirements, and policies and procedures, as appropriate.
  • Actively manage accepted students on the registration and enrollment process via telephone, email, text message, etc.
  • Create and update student information utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program.
  • Presents program and admissions information to prospective students at information sessions and conferences - travel will be required.
  • Works collaboratively with appropriate CUI personnel to grow and improve academic programs.
  • Utilizes effective communication skills with faculty, staff, and students; as well as all off campus constituents.
  • Supports, and contributes to, the mission and vision of Concordia University Irvine and MCAA.
  • Some evening and weekend hours (as needed).
  • Teaching duties may be assigned (as necessary).

Education and / or experience : Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. Master's Degree preferred. Experience in higher education admissions preferred.

Full Time Staff, Non-Exempt $25.50 - 27.50 / hr
