Physician Assistant Job Details

Assignment Type : Locum tenens (travel contract)

Location : Los Angeles, CA 90095 (Westwood / Santa Monica)

Start Date : January 5, 2026

End Date : July 6, 2026

Duration : 26 weeks

Estimated Weekly Pay : $6,760 – $7,250

Schedule : 5 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts (start time between 6 : 45am and 9 : 00am)

Hours per Week : 40

Healthcare Setting : Float between Santa Monica Medical Center and Ronald Reagan Medical Center

Call : Some weekend and weeknight call (additional compensation provided)

Physician Assistant Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Physician Assistant experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, or related surgical specialties

Hands-on experience with DaVinci XI robotic surgery required; DaVinci SP robot experience for head and neck cases is a plus

Experience in at least one additional surgical specialty : Urology, Gynecology, Head and Neck, or General Surgery

Active Physician Assistant certification (PA-C) and eligibility for California licensure (licensing support available)

Proficiency with Epic EMR (electronic medical record) charting system required

Key Responsibilities

First-assist in all intraoperative cases, primarily in Cardiothoracic and Thoracic Surgery (thoracotomies, lung lobectomies)

Assist in a range of robotic surgical procedures : General Surgery, Urology (prostatectomies, nephrectomies), Gynecology (hysterectomies), and Head & Neck (SP robot)

Float between multiple Los Angeles-area hospital locations as needed

No pre-op or post-op responsibilities; exclusive focus on intraoperative surgical assistance

Collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver optimal patient care
