• Phlebotomist / Registration :
• Working in a single assigned work area, provides specimen collection, registration and processing services to patients in the main hospital, outpatient lab draw stations, and mental health and skilled nursing facilities at off-site locations and clinics. High volume work, 50% of duties involve computer utilization with targets to meet. Provides clerical support to the Pathology Department and other duties as assigned.
• Requirements :
• High school diploma. Valid Michigan driver's license.
• ASCP certification for Phlebotomy (must obtain certification within one year of hire) preferred.
• Six months Phlebotomy experience STRONGLY desired, including experience from school.
• Must be able to type 40 words per minute.

Must be able to work as early as 4 am for first shift. First month or so will be full time training on the shift you are hired for. Every third weekend is required to work and 2-3 holidays a year required. Driver's license and reliable transportation required for commuting to different locations as needed. About 50% specimen collection and 50% data entry and registration / computer related work.

• Main Hospital Inpatient Phlebotomist

At the main hospital servicing inpatients, processing and registration of samples received from physician offices for testing.

• Outpatient Health Park Phlebotomist

May be located at any outpatient draw stations around Grand Rapids; required to float to any health park when needed.

• Mobile Phlebotomist

Travels daily between multiple nursing homes, corporate entities and residential facilities.
