As a CDL Class A Driver at our Georgia facility, Empire Food, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class A commercial vehicle to transport goods over designated routes. This is a regional CDL Class A Driver position that requires deliveries to restaurants in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the panhandle of Florida. 1 to 2 nights overnight may be required as the route dictates.
Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport goods over designated routes.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's optimal condition, promptly reporting any issues to management.
Load and unload goods safely and efficiently using proper lifting techniques, and secure cargo as required.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and ensure timely completion of all necessary paperwork.
Provide exceptional customer service by delivering goods punctually and addressing customer inquiries or concerns courteously.
Adhere strictly to safety regulations, traffic laws, and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and coworkers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record, with no more than 3 points on your license in the last 2 years and no at-fault accidents within the same period.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL driver.
Must have completed FMCSA-approved training with demonstrated knowledge of all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
Ability to demonstrate safe driving skills and pass a knowledge and skills assessment.
DOT Medical Exam and Medical Examiner's Certificate is required to confirm physical fitness. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours (up to 6 days per week), including weekends and holidays.
Experience working independently and as part of a team.
Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check.
The sign-on bonus will be disbursed after the employee has successfully completed 90 days of employment in good standing. In order to retain the sign-on bonus, the employee must remain employed with the company for a minimum of 180 days. If the employee leaves the company prior to reaching this 180-day threshold, the sign-on bonus will be forfeited, and the employee will be required to repay the full amount.
CDL-A Drivers for E- Trucking are paid on a commission-based structure; there is no daily rate. Pay is based on scheduled routes and deliveries, with a guaranteed minimum annual salary of $70,000$90,000, paid bi-weekly, contingent upon consistent attendance and completion of all assigned routes. Additional earnings can be achieved through other eligible earnings programs.
