Job Description
Acute Care Nurses care for patients in the hospital and emergency department setting. RN’s assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. RN’s also Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients and may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
WORK SCHEDULE
3 12 hour shifts 6am - 6pm or flexible hours
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Administer treatments as prescribed within standard nursing practice guidelines and in full compliance with established nursing protocols.
- Performs comprehensive physical, functional and psychosocial assessment, proper to patient population.
- Formulates implements, evaluates and revises plan of care based on assessment.
- Finds and documents educational needs. Provides resources to meet their learning needs.
- Initiates Interdisciplinary collaboration to promote best patient care and outcomes.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize and organize delivery of care in a consistent manner.
- Meets customers’ expectations of caring environment. Acts as a patient advocate.
- Works cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team by expressing a customer service approach for both external and internal customers.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION :
Registered Nurse, or Registered Nurse Applicant with a current South Dakota license.
Certified and up to date in Basic Life Support
Certified and up to date in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core Course and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Physical Therapy pre-employment screening is needed.
Must be able to communicate effectively with providers and all levels of Philip Health Services, Inc. staff.
EXPERIENCE :
Earlier experience not needed.
Experience with computerized health information systems is needed. Knowledge of EPIC is strongly preferred. Must be familiar with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

Requirements
Must be a registered nurse with a current licensure to practice nursing in the state.Minimum of two-years experience, prefen-ed at least one of which is in the area of public health or home health nursing but not required.Current valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Maintains a current CPR certification.Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.Demonstrates excellent observation, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.Shows ability to organize and prioritize workload independently.Management experience not required. May be responsible for supervising home health aides.Maintains responsibility to develop professional self-attend seminars, and identify self -learning needs, collaborates with agency leaders in meeting learning needs. PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS : Prolonged or considerable walking or standing. Able to lift, position, or transfer clients. Able to lift supplies and equipment. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching. Visual acuity and hearing to perform required nursing skills.
