About the Role
Initiate, develop and expand new and existing non-consumer deposit relationships. Develop and maintain Public, Commercial and / or Commercial Real Estate client relationships by calling on prospective and existing customers, including identification of prospects, suitable method of contact and determination of their needs and appropriate products and / or services. Drives financial performance through profitable deposit growth.
Build and maintain a portfolio of non-consumer deposit customers via referrals and self-sourcing in a segment or geographic territory. Services and deepens existing Commercial Deposit Relationships resulting in profitable deposit growth for the Bank. Manage customer relationships and proactively study industrial, commercial, economic and financial situations relating to new or existing business. Analyze the customer's deposit needs by engaging with them in a consultative business development approach and provide recommendations that add value and deliver strategic solutions. Partner with lines of business including International Banking, Merchant Services, Com'l Card Services, Treasury Management and other internal partners to execute on providing a comprehensive suite of bank deposit solutions to our Commercial clients. Manage and apply pricing strategy and demonstrate a high level of understanding around Account Analysis billing systems for treasury management products. Collaborate closely with servicing and operations across product lines to ensure clients receive superior operational support. Develops and maintains an in-depth knowledge of products and services as well as knowledge of competitors and competitive products. Proactively promotes and cross-markets bank products and services, and keeps client informed of special promotions. Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training. Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description. May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words. About You
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other related field or equivalent work experience. Required. 4-7 years of prior business development and / or deposit relationship management experience for a Retail / Commercial Bank. Required. Strong knowledge of deposit products and services including cash management and Institutional Services & Asset Management, as well as concepts and principles related to industry products and services that result in successfully capitalizing on all opportunities to cross-sell the bank's products. Strong relationship management and business development abilities, analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong sales skills. Strong knowledge of business development and marketing techniques, bank deposit policies and practices, bank operations and services, federal and state banking regulations, and the income and cost structure used to measure profitability. Proven track record of success and skills in developing new clients and business, including prospecting, sourcing and networking. Also includes strong negotiating and closing skills and ability to create presentations and present to clients. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships. Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel, and other business machines. Ability to train and present to small and large audiences.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $75,000.00 - $110,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
