The Strategy and Visualization team with Humana's Medicaid Business Intelligence organization solves complex data and process gaps to help drive more efficient and actionable operational insights. We support innovation and governance across Medicaid's reporting ecosystem, ensuring that analytics, automation, and visualization solutions are both scalable and sustainable as our business continues to quickly grow. Our team partners closely with operational leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to modernize analytics functions, optimize data pipelines, and enhance decision-making through intuitive, well-governed reporting tools. At times, we act as internal business process consultants, identifying inefficiencies, streamlining workflows, and championing solutions that enable teams to focus more on outcomes and less on manual processes. The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 plays a key leadership role in designing and delivering end to end reporting solutions across Humana's Medicaid Markets. This position drives development of intuitive, audience aligned dashboards and reporting tools that empower business leaders to make informed decisions, track performance, and align with enterprise strategy. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of data storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and product thinking. They balance deep analytical rigor with a passion for user-centered design and operational clarity.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead dashboard design and scalable strategy.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders who have identified insight and process gaps.
  • Champion design standards and lead Humana business intelligence into a more scalable and efficient future state.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of professional experience performing data analytics and building user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms.
  • Advanced Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar automation and reporting technology skills.
  • Deep familiarity with semantic models, data governance principles, and / or relational database theory.
  • Experience with data mining, predictive modeling techniques and using data to drive business outcomes and decisions.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree.
  • Background in user research, design thinking, or scalable reporting strategies, UX design experience a plus.

  • Work-At-Home Requirements :

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home / Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position / job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
  • Interview Format :

    As part of our hiring process for this opportunity, we will be using exciting interviewing technology called HireVue to enhance our hiring and decision-making ability. If you are selected for a first-round interview, you will receive an email correspondence inviting you to participate in a HireVue interview. In this interview, you will receive a set of interview questions over your phone, and you will provide recorded or text message responses to each question. For best interview experience use a computer over a phone. You should anticipate this interview to take about 15-20 minutes. Your recorded interview will be reviewed, and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.

    Scheduled Weekly Hours : 40

    Pay Range : $66,800 - $91,100 per year

    This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and / or individual performance.
