  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and sees that all shop safety rules are being followed, and all housekeeping standards are met.
  • Must be capable of understanding injection molding, process control, machine capability, mold capability, material processing and auxiliary equipment operations in order to maximize customer value.
  • Must be capable of understanding of secondary processes related to Pad Printing, Ultrasonic and IR welding, Heat Sealing, Hot Stamping, Automated Assembly, and new technologies being developed.
  • Works directly with engineering to help design and develop all secondary operations, documentation and processes required on molded components.
  • Must be capable of keeping accurate up to date IQ, OQ, PQ, job information, documentation related to projects.
  • Serves as an advanced setup and troubleshooter when machine, tool process, or inter-related problems develop during production and / or development runs.
  • Understands and troubleshoots complex servo driven systems, vacuum circuits, and PLC controlled machines with the use of a digital multi-meter and machine documentation, mechanical drawings, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Maintains and improves all existing automation equipment.
  • Assists in production start-ups and changeovers as related to automation equipment. This may include but is not limited to : leveling and squaring automation and robot heads, centering mechanical components, moving automation from one press to another, making stroke.
  • adjustments, and changing robot heads and related mechanical components.
  • Responsible for learning how to start automation, modify moving axes points, and make small programming changes on various types of robots and other equipment.
  • Provide machine, process, and material expertise in the investigation, analysis, and preventative actions involving customer and internal expectations with regards to quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Responsible for replacing or repairing mechanical and electrical components.
  • Assists engineering and various departments with implementation and installation of new jobs.
  • Assist in the training and development of technical associates in process excellence – including, but not limited to, classroom training, on the job training, and mentoring.
  • Performs light maintenance on equipment.
  • Special projects as assigned by Manager.
  • Performs related work as required.
