Overview

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Fellow Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer opportunity for our customer in Aiken, SC to support the Savannah River Site.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, construction support, walkdowns, design development and of design output documents including but not limited to : Single Line Drawings; Electrical Equipment Lists; Control System Design; Control Schematics and Connection Diagrams; Electrical Equipment Specifications; Bulk Material Specifications; Circuit / Raceway / Wiring / Connection Design; Grounding; Heat Tracing; Fire Detection; Short Circuit Calculations; Arc Flash Incident Energy Analysis; Load Flow Analysis and Electrical System Sizing Calculations.
  • Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering.
  • Ten (10) years of design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry and working knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA requirements.
  • Experience using software to generate electrical system calculations (preferably ETAP).
  • Ability to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site; willing to work on construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking distances, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and wearing protective clothing and respirators where required.
  • Experience with SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility is preferred. Proficiency in MicroStation 2D CAD software is preferred.
