Job Summary

Performs general carpentry work to include lay out, construction, repair, and renovation on all USM buildings.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs general carpentry work in the construction, repair, and renovations of floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, and screens from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions and replaces damaged ceiling tile, floor tiles, and equipment as assigned.
• Selects, cuts, trims, and processes lumber as specified using hand and power tools and woodworking machines such as power saws, band saws, jointers, planes, and drill presses.
• Sands cabinets, work tables, and other wooden articles.

Minimum Qualifications

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
