Your Role :

As a Tax Office Team Leader , you will motivate and guide a customer-centric team of associates to achieve seasonal tax business goals while managing a single H&R Block tax office.

You’ll be the frontline manager, providing leadership and support to your team, ensuring they deliver an exceptional client experience, while meeting growth objectives for the office. We empower you to enhance your expertise on tax topics, enabling you to be a valuable resource for your associates.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the District General Manager to develop and execute growth plans for the office, fostering local partnerships and community involvement.
  • Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate roles.
  • Act as the primary contact for resolving escalated client service issues on-site.
  • Manage client scheduling and resolve any conflicts that arise.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure all associates meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards and achieving overall goals.
  • Foster a positive team environment through training and coaching, and recognizing outstanding contributions from associates.
  • Lead daily team meetings to relay important information and updates.
  • Manage associate work schedules, ensuring accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and work with Associate Relations Center to address performance issues.

Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in customer service, or as a shift leader or similar role.
  • Experience in supervising or managing teams.
  • Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course is preferred if preparing tax returns.
  • Ongoing education to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with technology.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for helping others.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience in managing multiple units in retail, restaurant, banking, or similar industries.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Tax Professional.
