Overview

Thumbtack, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) driving engineering projects to completion, with a tenacious focus on the business impact of those projects. Solve tough technical problems at any level of the stack, and be persistent in getting to the solution, whether it involves front-end, back-end, or infrastructure work. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to plan and execute on engineering projects. Improve team processes with feedback and documentation. Resolve issues that affect our users in production with urgency and accountability. Write scalable code that is easily maintainable and adapting to future needs.

Responsibilities

Solve tough technical problems at any level of the stack, and be persistent in getting to the solution, whether it involves front-end, back-end, or infrastructure work.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to plan and execute on engineering projects.
Improve team processes with feedback and documentation.
Resolve issues that affect users in production with urgency and accountability.
Write scalable, maintainable code that adapts to future needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field.

Programming languages including GraphQL, Java, and Kotlin; experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and validating code in Java and Kotlin using JUnit and Robolectric.

Frontend technologies utilizing RxJava framework; Android application development, including client and server applications for highly concurrent and scalable infrastructure.

Experience with continuous delivery tools such as Git, Gradle, Maven, and Jenkins for continuous integration.

Object-oriented design concepts; data structures and algorithms; improving the efficiency of Android snapshot testing frameworks.

Details

40 hours per week, $135,699 - $140,000 / yr. May work from home anywhere in the continental U.S. Actual offered salaries will vary based on factors such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
