Shift Description

24 hour Beeper Call Only

Call Response Time Required : 30 min

Phone Consults : 2

Call Ratio : 1 / 3

Admissions required

Patients per shift : 4

Bed count in department : 10

Deliveries per year : 450

Support staff includes 6 RNs and 1 PA / NP

No resident or teaching supervision required

Not required to supervise advanced practice providers

EMR : Athena & Meditech

Requirements

Board Eligible or Board Certified

Licensed in Virginia or IMLC

BLS

Fellowship - Preferred

Drive In Candidates - Preferred

Hospital privileging requires 100 deliveries and 50 gyn cases within the past 24 months.

Required Skills

Low-risk pregnancy management

FHR interpretation : NST / CST / FSE

Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations

Amniocentesis

OB ultrasounds :

Level I / Screening (viability)

Level II / Targeted (anatomic)

Routine delivery : Vaginal

Low forceps

Decision-making for C-section

Complicated delivery :

C-section

Breech

Multiple births

Abruptions

VBACs

Surgical gynecology :

Open

Laparoscopic diagnostic / minor only (tubal ligation, LOAs, chronal tubation)

Operative / major (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs)
