Senior It Project Manager
We are looking for a positive and dynamic senior IT project manager that will be accountable for the planning, execution, and overall success of large-scale projects. The successful candidate will be an energetic and clear communicator who has 10+ years of hands-on experience managing IT projects. The candidate should possess a deep knowledge of PMLC (Project Management Lifecycle) and SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle). Responsibilities include the management of large, complex IT projects and maintenance of associated artifacts from beginning to end. Senior IT Project Manager will promote collaboration between IT and business stakeholders, manage project core teams and present to executive level boards. This is a hybrid position located in Marlborough, MA with potential for travel as required by projects. Essential duties and responsibilities include :
Management of large, complex IT projects from beginning to end including all phases of planning, requirements, design, testing and cutover
Collaboration with the business and functional teams to define project scope and all required deliverables, activities, activity sequence, work break-down and work estimates to create a framework for the project schedule
Management of all aspects of the project including the plan, resources, dependencies, change management and budget utilizing internal project management tools
Management of multiple, simultaneous projects including 3rd party vendor partner management
Collaboration with stakeholders to prioritize and determine the project's acceptance criteria / critical success factors and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project
Ensure that project objectives are met within the constraints of project scope, time, cost and quality
Actively monitor project dependencies and risks - Lead, motivate, manage and support assigned team members to ensure adherence to process and procedures and to maximize contribution to effectiveness and efficiency
Measure progress and monitor performance (overall, scope, schedule, costs, quality)
Actively manage risks including issue escalation and resolution
Resolution of conflicts and escalation issues in an effective manner
Conduct post project implementation reviews to document lessons learned and provide to organization to update applicable methodology, tools, templates
Creation and execution of executive level status reports that are tailored appropriately for steering committees, governance boards, etc
Coordinate and communicate with project resources, internal team, stakeholders and vendors on all aspects of project progression / status
Establish and execute thorough communication plans
Leads steering committee and workstream lead mtgs ensuring barriers and interdependencies are uncovered and addressed
Compensation : $75 / hr to $100 / hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and requirements :
Bachelor's degree in business or information technology, or equivalent
PMP or equivalent PM certification
10+ years experience managing IT projects across infrastructure, operations and business systems.
Proven ability to navigate a matrixed organization structure
Strong vendor partner management skills
Strong business relationship management skills
Experience supporting a diverse portfolio including IT projects for various business units (i.e supply chain, finance, operations, etc.)
Experience creating and implementing project plans with multiple workstreams
Vendor management experience
Experience managing project budgets
Experience utilizing agile and waterfall methodologies (hybrid methodology)
Experience in leading multiple large scale and complex projects concurrently
Excellent analytical skills and advanced user of Excel or similar tools, with the ability to drive structured problem solving and solutions across broad stakeholder groups.
Position is onsite in Marlborough, MA 3 days / week
Background in medical device industry, healthcare
Agile certification (Scrum master, Product Owner, etc) is a plus
