The role supports retail stores in and around the Fairfield, CA region as part of Zone 6, which includes Davis through Healdsburg, San Francisco, and Benicia. The team includes two other technicians in the zone. The technicians repair devices such as Self-Checkout systems, counter scales, checkstand scales, point-of-sale printers, Lexmark printers, iPads, eCommerce picking devices, and desktops / laptops, and assist with deploying new and replacement hardware in the field. On-site visits to retail stores and backstage facilities address open IT issues, with remote support where possible.
The hourly range is $26.57 to $34.53 . Starting salary varies based on location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
Main Responsibilities
- Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway backstage facilities.
- Repair approved standard technology hardware, including PC / server hardware, network hardware, multi-function printers, scales, iPads, eCommerce picking devices, self-checkout and point-of-sale equipment.
- Provide network and remote connectivity (hardware / software) support.
- Installation of new hardware and software.
- Provide customers with IT support; meet goals for service level agreements.
- Interface with all Corporate IT groups for on-site support and technology resolutions.
- Adhere to repair standards and service levels established.
What We Are Searching For
High school graduate; AA / AS / BA / BS degree is preferred or 3+ years of technical training / hardware certifications.5+ years of technical systems experience with 2+ years of technical support experience; IT project implementation exposure is preferred.2+ years' retail business experience preferred.2+ years' experience with retail store systems, technology systems and hardware preferred.2+ years' experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology; 2+ years' experience in desktop support.Excellent telephone, customer service and problem-solving skills; ability to gather information to resolve high-pressure issues for remote locations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present technical information clearly.Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, Windows, MS Office, and related applications.iOS and Android knowledge.Ability to follow written / verbal instructions, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to work independently and as a collaborative partner in a matrixed organization.Willingness to learn beyond formal training with strong aptitude for delivering quality products under minimal supervision.Understanding of how hardware / software systems inter-relate.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with equipment installs; some twisting and turning may be required.Must have a good, safe driving record and access to a vehicle.Solid mechanical skills.Flexibility to work various shifts (day, evening, overnight) in a 24 / 7 on-call capacity.Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability and follow-through.About The Company
