Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Senior Lead Full Stack Engineer to join our lean, operations-driven team. As the first engineering hire, you'll not only architect and build our suite of software products-from kitchen operations and recipe management platforms to new digital tools for future lines of business-but you'll also lay the foundation for our AI-assisted systems.

You will directly influence the technological trajectory of our business and be the principal driver of technical implementation, innovation, and efficiency. We're looking for a self-starter who can operate as a solo engineer initially, but with the foresight to design scalable systems with AI in mind and grow a team around them. On-site presence (5 days / week) is mandatory due to the deep integration of our tech with physical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, design, and development of our internal and customer-facing software products
  • Integrate AI / ML tools and services to improve kitchen productivity, forecasting, data extraction, and intelligent automation
  • Evaluate opportunities to apply AI to unstructured data : menu PDFs, kitchen camera feeds, ops logs, 3P order metadata, etc.
  • Collaborate with data, kitchen ops, and executive stakeholders to define requirements and roadmap
  • Write clean, scalable code across the full stack with strong documentation and system design practices
  • Architect systems that can incorporate LLMs, embeddings, and real-time AI inferences
  • Design fault-tolerant systems that integrate cloud-native AI services (OpenAI, HuggingFace, Google Vertex, LangChain, Pinecone, etc.
  • Establish CI / CD practices, test coverage, and performance monitoring
  • Contribute to overall strategic tech planning, with a particular focus on how AI tools can extend human capabilities
  • Recruit and mentor new engineers as the team expands

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 5+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy AI / ML models or integrate AI APIs into production systems
  • Experience working with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) and embeddings-based search
  • Familiarity with LLM frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or OpenAI function-calling
  • Deep understanding of front-end frameworks (React, Vue) and backend stacks (Node.js, Python, FastAPI, or Django)
  • Comfortable working with real-time data and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, WebSockets, MQTT)
  • Understanding of UI / UX principles and ability to work cross-functionally with design teams using Figma or similar
  • Experience managing off-shore teams and external dev partners
  • Proven experience building and maintaining systems at scale
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Bonus : familiarity with edge hardware integration, computer vision, or on-prem AI inference for food tech environments
  • Bonus Areas of AI Application

  • AI-assisted recipe standardization and scaling
  • Predictive demand modeling for delivery platforms
  • Natural language query interfaces for internal dashboards
  • Ops incident detection from audio / video logs
  • Intelligent task routing in kitchen or fulfillment workflows
  • Auto-tagging of new menu items from 3P partner integrations
