Under limited supervision, to perform a wide variety of moderately complex and responsible assignments requiring comprehensive knowledge of subject matter, organizational activities and operations.
Typical tasks include furnishing public, departments and agencies with information, assisting visitors and callers, extracting technical and statistical data, preparing correspondence, maintaining files, identifying potentially dangerous persons, performing clerical duties, managing payroll activities, and more.
Employment standards require sufficient education, training, and experience to demonstrate the possession and direct application of knowledge and abilities in office practices, customer services, computer applications, basic mathematics, and telephone procedures, as well as the ability to deal tactfully with members of the public, communicate effectively, use a keyboard with accuracy, use discretion, prepare reports, analyze information, interpret laws and policies, and operate standard office equipment.
