Duties : We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Permit Coordinator to support a local utility in Jackson, Michigan. This hybrid role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate tracking of permit requirements across multiple teams. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a knack for detail and a drive to keep projects moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Real Estate and Environmental teams to track and manage permit requirements

Communicate permit timelines and obligations to Engineering and Construction teams

Maintain and update tracking tools and spreadsheets to monitor permit status and deadlines

Proactively follow up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure permit schedules are met

Identify and escalate potential delays or issues in the permitting process

Serve as a central point of contact for permit-related inquiries and updates

Support documentation and reporting needs related to permitting activities

Hybrid Schedule :

On-site : Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays

Remote : Most Wednesdays and Fridays

Collaborative team setting with cross-functional interaction

Skills :

No certifications or licenses required

Strong communication skills written and verbal

Familiarity with spreadsheets (Excel or similar tools) and tracking systems

Highly organized with excellent attention to detail

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Comfortable "chasing down requirements and coordinating across departments
