Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN with an active IL license and combined adult / pediatric emergency experience for a night shift position.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a critical access hospital with 22 ED bedsHandles both adult and pediatric emergency cases with an average of 65 visits per dayNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4 for all shiftsNight shift schedule : 3x12s, 17 : 45–06 : 15, with every other weekend requiredMay float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as neededUses Cerner EMR; prior Cerner experience requiredResponsibilities include adult and pediatric emergency care, triage, isolation precautions, and management of acute medical and psychiatric emergenciesWill work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a Magnet-designated, critical access environmentMust wear any solid color scrubsParking provided with a free permit to be arranged during orientationNon-holiday RTO up to 5 days may be auto-approved; more requires facility approvalMust work 2 out of 3 major holidaysPrevious permanent or PRN staff must have a 12-month gap before travelingFirst-time travelers are not acceptedRequirements
Active IL RN license required at time of applicationMinimum 3 years of recent ED RN experience requiredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI not accepted)TNCC certification preferredCommunity hospital ED experience requiredMust demonstrate skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKGs, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, emergency medication administration, and procedural sedationProficiency in care for multi-system organ dysfunction / failure, CVA, and emergency management of adult, pediatric, psychiatric, and respiratory casesMust have Cerner EMR experienceBenefits
