This is a Level 1 Technician role starting at $21 per hour , but we're also hiring for more advanced technician positions—including those with CVT status or extensive surgical experience .

The Humane Society of Sarasota (HSSC) operates a no-kill animal shelter located in Sarasota, FL. We provide compassionate care for 3,000 cats and dogs annually and an additional 2,000 cats through our community cat program. We are a growing organization committed to expanding lifesaving programs, fostering collaboration, and educating communities to build a No-Kill Florida. The Lifesaving Services department drives lifesaving strategies to create a more ethical future for companion animals across Florida. Through rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming, we give dogs and cats a second chance, while empowering communities to join the no-kill mission.

What You’ll Do :

The Shelter Medical department is looking for experienced Veterinary Technicians to provide hands-on medical care and treatment for the dogs and cats in our shelter, assisting veterinarians in exams, diagnostics, and surgery. This role is ideal for individuals with prior veterinary technician experience especially those with prior experience in a fast-paced shelter environment
