Assists in providing and delivering specific ancillary services to residents as they pertain to transportation of resident to and from certain prescribed destinations.
Essential Functions :
- Receives and follows schedules / instructions from the RCFE Health Service Assistant / Coordinator and RCFE Health Service Manager.
- Performs routine emergency driving assignments to medical clinics and hospitals; performs various driving errands including recreation trips, as needed.
- Assists residents with or without wheelchairs in and out of vehicles.
- Follows through on completion of assignments, overcoming obstacles and increasing efforts where necessary.
- When off campus, maintain contact with Masonic Homes via cell phone as needed and calls 911 in case of a medical emergency.
- Performs basic safety inspections prior to any assigned trip. Records mileage and gas before and after trip.
- Attends to mechanical / body damage, by reporting it immediately to Director of Environmental Services.
- Reports and responds to all emergencies as needed. Learns and understands Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Works independently and within a team on special and non-recurring and ongoing projects.
- Make practical decisions and recommendations reflecting logical analysis of problems and / or issues.
- Conveys information in a concise, accurate and understandable manner. Displays attentiveness, tact, and diplomacy in responding to others.
- Receives and initiates calls.
- Attendance of mandatory department meetings and in-service education.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Assists residents with needs as appropriate.
- Additional duties as assigned.
