As a Biosecurity Research Resident, you will lead interdisciplinary efforts to assess and mitigate high-consequence risks at the intersection of AI and biology. You will guide research projects that inform policy decisions, develop threat models, and evaluate AI-driven biological tools and systems. The role involves managing a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating across technical and policy domains, and translating complex research into actionable insights for stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to influence strategic priorities, apply rigorous analytical methods, and contribute to the safe and responsible deployment of frontier AI technologies. Accountabilities :

• Lead and manage an interdisciplinary research team of 5+ members, overseeing a portfolio with significant funding.
• Develop operationalizable threat models for high-consequence risks at the AI-biology interface.
• Design and execute rigorous evaluations of AI capabilities relevant to biosecurity.
• Set and implement strategic research priorities, focusing on policy impact.
• Oversee the application of quantitative and qualitative research methods to support decision-making.
• Communicate findings to policymakers and stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
• Mentor team members, manage project budgets, and ensure timely delivery of objectives.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance research scope and impact.
