Position Summary : Join our dedicated team as a Cardiac Rehabilitation RN, where you will supervise medically prescribed exercise therapy tailored to patients' age and medical / emotional state. You will play a crucial role in educating patients on the cardiovascular system and heart-healthy lifestyle modifications essential for maintaining optimal health.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide orientation for cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking.
- Engage in various operational duties including policy maintenance, billing documentation, and gathering statistical data.
- Develop educational opportunities for departmental staff and contribute to excellent customer service.
Education / Certification Requirements :
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing education program.Hold a current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire; must maintain clinical competency during employment.Experience :
A minimum of two years of recent acute / emergent care experience is required.Previous experience in Cardiac Care is preferred.Essential Duties :
Conduct in-service training for Cardiac Rehab / Stress Lab staff annually.Represent the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department in community programs to raise awareness of heart disease prevention and treatment.Thoroughly assess patients' conditions and care needs; conduct endurance walks.Identify nursing diagnoses and plan individualized, patient-centered care based on comprehensive assessments.Conduct education classes for patients and families, documenting their progress.Monitor patients during exercise sessions, including cardiovascular responses through vital signs and telemetry.Accurately identify cardiac rhythms and initiate appropriate interventions when necessary.Collaborate on cross-site projects for the AACVPR credentialing process.This role offers you a chance to make a significant difference in patients' lives through education and rehabilitation.
