This position performs engineering conceptual design, studies, calculations, and protection settings development for substation protection systems. Primary job responsibilities will be focused on the application of new protective relaying for existing infrastructure or new transmission system capital investments. Additional responsibilities include providing protective relay settings support and troubleshooting for protection systems as well as the development, implementation, and maintenance of protective device settings templates (transmission line protection, transformer protection, bus protection, capacitor protection, etc.).
Job responsibility will be managing and responding to Protection System settings tasks in the team's planner tool. This will include fielding requests from Account Management, Distribution, Transmission Planning, System Performance, and other teams within PGO-Transmission. The candidate will also be supporting Transmission Capital project work and will be responsible for QA of OLR's and protection system settings.
