About the Role

Seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic for daily inspection, maintenance, and repair of building systems and equipment in a large commercial office environment. The role also includes security system maintenance, preventive equipment care, minor cleaning, office relocations, and on-call availability for after-hours emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily inspections, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.

Complete monthly inspections and recordkeeping of life safety equipment including fire extinguishers, emergency and exit lights, and fire doors.

Inspect office interiors and exteriors, ensure satisfactory janitorial service, and address urgent cleaning needs when necessary.

Maintain building security systems by programming / deleting access cards, coordinating with other building systems, and providing security reports.

Assist with office relocations and furniture assembly within the building and satellite offices.

Contact and schedule outside contractors for repairs beyond in-house capabilities.

Serve as point of contact for maintenance issues at multiple agency office sites.

Remain on-call and available for emergency or after-hours maintenance needs.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of commercial building maintenance experience (not residential).

Experience in building, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.

Skill in using tools / equipment in maintenance work.

Ability to read blueprints, install / repair electric motors and generators, and perform a variety of skilled trades functions.

Ability to take accurate measurements, climb as needed, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Must pass level 2 background and MVR screening.

Strong verbal and written English, teamwork, and reliable work history.

Proficiency with computers and digital recordkeeping.

Preferred Qualifications

Handy man or contractor license.

Experience using building security systems.
