Physician / Family Practice / Texas / Locum tenens / West Texas Opportunity Job

Our Abilene Client is in need of a Primary Care Physician, either a MD or DO, beginning November. They do not have to be board certified, but board eligible. This is for a case load of around 60 people. They will see approximately 5-15 per day for acute illness, injury or follow-up. They will do clinics in the morning, and annual physicals / meetings in the afternoon. Hours 8-5, M-F with every 5th weekday on call (8 AM-8AM), and on call one weekend / month. About 95% of call is managed by telephone, and the rare response requiring a return to campus. When on call for the weekend, they must come in and do the Infirmary rounds (16 bed Infirmary for acute and chronic care) and hold a sick call clinic. The remainder of time will be via phone. Must have an absolutely clean record no history of sanctions by the Medical Board. Must have current Texas License; DEA; Texas DPS Controlled Substance Cert; NPI; and CPR / BLS. Prefer someone with experience with treating those with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities.
