Job description

JOB SUMMARY

This position is for an advanced nurse practitioner, whose responsibility is to provide a full scope of services which fall under his / her specialty including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care and health maintenance to patients / residents. This position reports to the Director of Medical Practices.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Meets the credentialing requirements for Active Staff Membership

  • A current license in the State of Georgia, including authorization for advanced nursing practices by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Credentialed by the Medical Staff for Liberty Regional Hospital Authority.
  • Current APRN agreement on file with the Georgia Composite Medical Board.
  • Current DEA.
  • Successful completion of the National Certifying Examination authorization by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of one year of related clinical nursing experience.
  • Professional knowledge of scope of practice.
  • Must be able to write English language in a legible and understandable manner.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to handle tactfully with personnel, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as law, regulations and guidelines that pertain to acute care.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for providing quality of care.
  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
  • Completion of a fully accredited board certified FNP preferred.
  • BSN required.
