Description UNC Rex is seeking a Thoracic Surgeon.
Ideal candidates should have experience in the robot-assisted
treatment of thoracic surgical disease including benign and
malignant disease of esophagus, foregut, lung, mediastinum, pleura,
chest wall, trachea and diaphragm. Candidates will be
board-certified or board-eligible in thoracic surgery. We employ a
multidisciplinary thoracic team approach and offer the most
advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care available outside an
academic medical center. Our care team offers the latest treatment
options and access to all the support and resources offered at UNC
Rex. Our board-certified specialists have been trained at some of
the top programs in their fields, and they continue to learn new
techniques to better our patient care. Provides professional
medical services to patients. Exercises independent professional
judgment in the care and treatment of patients. Orders and
prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care and
other health and medical services. Prescribes medically appropriate
pharmaceuticals. Provides health and medical education to patients
and families. Refers patients as needed to appropriate medical
specialists and other health care professionals to assure
appropriate multidisciplinary care is provided. Documents medical
and clinical care in the patient's medical record. Assigns the
appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third party
insurance billing. Supervises other medical professionals. Adheres
to the principles of medical ethics. Graduation from an accredited
school of medicine. Active member of the Rex Hospital Medical
Staff, including meeting the Board Certification requirements.
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine. Language Skills :
Should be able to communicate proficiently in English. High-level
quantitative and qualitative reason skills are essential in order
to diagnosis medical and clinical issues presented by patients.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS North Carolina Medical
License, DEA License, BLS / ACLS certification preferred. Board
certified in Thoracic Surgery. Reasonable accommodations may be
