PCU RN Travel Job Details Location : Salem, Oregon (97301) – Access to outdoor recreation, local wineries, and a lively downtown Unit : Neurotrauma Care Unit (NTCU), 30 beds Assignment Type : Travel nursing contract Start Date : January 5, 2026 End Date : April 6, 2026 Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM), 3 shifts / week (36 hours / week) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700-$1820 Patient Ratios : RN 1 : 3-4 Charting System : Epic Scrub Color : Royal Blue Free Parking PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending Oregon RN license accepted at submission Minimum 1 year of recent experience (within the last 3 years) in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing Neuro stepdown and PCU experience with NIHSS certification preferred Current BLS certification (AHA required) Proficiency in telemetry, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and management of cardiac drips (e.g., nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, Nicardipine) Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Non-invasive airway management and rapid response team activation experience Peripheral IV line care and management Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols Willingness to float within scope, including to West Valley Hospital No first-time travelers PCU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with neurotrauma and neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal injuries, brain tumors, meningitis, encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease) Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips and respond to rapid response / code situations Perform non-invasive airway management and provide care for patients with lumbar / CSF drains, feeding tubes, and specialized equipment Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy Document patient care accurately using Epic EHR Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed to support patient care Maintain strict compliance with infection control and isolation protocols Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career with this rewarding PCU RN job in Salem, Oregon!
