Warehouse Worker

This position is responsible for the daily staging, packing, and picking of materials for shipment. It involves the use of proper equipment to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders.

Break down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.

Package materials according to customer requirements.

Operate a sit-down or side loader forklift to move materials as needed.

Operate an overhead crane to move materials as necessary.

Complete paperwork and SAP work order confirmations for shipping and receiving on the computer.

Maximize productivity for finished goods creation.

Essential Skills

Proficient in overhead crane operation.

Experience with forklift operations.

Skilled in packing and picking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

Regular attendance is essential.

Basic math skills required.

Basic computer skills and / or comfort using a computer.

Physical ability to pass a physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.

Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training.

Work Environment

The role is based in a wide-open warehouse environment with raw steel materials. It operates on a 3rd shift schedule from 11 pm to 7 am. Safety is a top priority, and the facility includes various storage and loading areas to accommodate different shipping methods. The facility houses approximately 23 employees, emphasizing teamwork and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
