Position Summary
The Program Director provides overall leadership, management, and compliance oversight for the federally funded TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program at Guilford College. The Director ensures the program's missionto improve retention, graduation, and success for first-generation, low-income students, and students with disabilitiesis fully integrated into Guilford's academic and student success framework.
This position supervises all TRIO personnel, manages fiscal and programmatic operations, coordinates assessment and reporting, and serves as the institutional liaison to the U.S. Department of Education and to campus partners.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Program Leadership And Administration
Direct, coordinate, and evaluate all aspects of the TRIO SSS program to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Supervise and evaluate the Academic Coach, Career / Financial Success Coach, Administrative Coordinator, peer mentors, tutors, and student assistants.
Work closely with staff on the Student Support Team to coordinate interventions, programs, staffing, and student care.
Serve on Guilford's Campus Retention Committee and other institutional working groups that support student persistence and completion.
Develop annual and long-term plans aligned with program objectives, institutional priorities, and federal grant goals.
Fiscal Management And Compliance
Manage a federally funded budget in accordance with OMB Uniform Guidance and EDGAR requirements.
Authorize expenditures, reconcile monthly financial reports, and maintain fiscal accountability.
Prepare and submit annual performance reports (APR) and other documentation to the U.S. Department of Education.
Program Development, Outreach, And Training
Lead staff in designing and implementing program services including tutoring, advising, financial literacy workshops, and the Summer Bridge program.
Conduct outreach to promote TRIO SSS through print, web, and social media.
Provide training for faculty and staff regarding TRIO eligibility, services, and referral processes.
Build collaborative partnerships with the Financial Aid Office, CAPE, Accessibility Resource Center, and Learning and Writing Center.
Data, Evaluation, And Assessment
Utilize the Blumen database and institutional systems to monitor student progress and assess program outcomes.
Analyze retention, GPA, and graduation data to inform continuous improvement and federal reporting.
Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA and institutional data security policies.
