Food Technologist

Location : West Nyack, NY

Salary : $65,000.00 USD Annually - $70,000.00 USD Annually

Description : Our client is currently seeking a second shift Food Technologist

This job will have the following responsibilities :

Enforcing HACCP, GMPs, and safety protocols throughout the plant to ensure full compliance.

• Performing pre-operational, operational, and post-operational inspections.
• Leading and participating in internal and third-party audits.
• Reviewing daily food safety and quality control records.
• Maintaining and enhancing SOPs and prerequisite programs.
• Overseeing sanitation activities per the Master Sanitation Schedule and verifying task completion.
• Reporting quality issues and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Evaluating product specifications against customer requirements.
• Training production staff on food safety and quality procedures.
• Verifying HACCP and prerequisite records related to food safety programs.
• Monitoring and approving supplier performance.
• Conducting ATP and allergen control testing.
• Reviewing labels and raw materials regularly.
• Supervising line checkers and QC assistants to ensure timely and accurate testing.
• Ensuring product compliance with USDA, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
• Managing and maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Ensuring proper calibration of testing instruments.
• Investigating and resolving customer complaints.

Qualifications & Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
