Job Summary
The construction Superintendent oversees all field operations on assigned projects, ensuring compliance with construction documents, safety standards, schedules, and company values. This role requires real-time coordination of field activities, supervision of subcontractors, and proactive problem-solving to keep projects on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily job site construction activities; ensure adherence to plans, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
- Open and close job sites daily, ensuring safety protocols and site security procedures are followed.
- Develop and adjust project schedules to meet critical milestones and overall deadlines.
- Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain project momentum.
- Monitor project budgets and identify cost savings opportunities while preventing overruns.
- Track delivery dates and manage critical path materials and equipment.
- Act as the on-site representative of the company, modeling its values in all client and subcontractor interactions.
- Maintain and update all project documentation, including daily reports, drawings, safety logs, and change orders.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols.
- Identify and proactively mitigate job site risks.
- Oversee punch list completion and ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
5+ years of experience in industrial or large scale commercial constructionKnowledge of current construction safety regulations with a commitment to enforcing jobsite safety.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in Procore and project management platforms.OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
