Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,208 per week in Amarillo, TX

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Medical Surgical Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum of 1 year required. License : Current Registered Nurse license required. Certifications : BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have : - Recent EPIC experience within the last 6 months. - Experience in Medical Surgical and Orthopedic patient population. - Ability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity. - Previous charge experience preferred. Description : Position requires a focus on a 35-bed unit with a medical surgical and orthopedic patient population. Telemetry is monitored in a centralized unit. Nurses will work with a free-floating charge nurse and support staff including Patient Care Technicians and Patient Transporters. There is a house discharge nurse that assists across all departments. Daily census is approximately 30 patients with a patient ratio of 1 : 6. Support will be available from various interdisciplinary services such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. A commitment to patient safety and care quality is essential. Must possess skills in isolation precautions, wound care, and peripheral line care. Experience with total joint replacements is preferred. Travelers are accepted, but they must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule. No travel pairs or groups are allowed. Compliance with maximum requested time off will be enforced. Experience with the Epic EMR system is strongly preferred.
