A Senior Teller has the responsibility to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.
Essential functions include : serving customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the SouthState Bank Service Standards; knowing and understanding the products and services offered by the Bank; identifying customer needs and expectations; presenting a neat and professional personal appearance; ensuring compliance to all banking regulations; developing a strong understanding of customer-facing technology; performing teller duties such as processing transactions, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and balancing transactions daily; and knowing and following the branch's security and audit procedures.
Minimum qualifications for the Senior Teller include three years' experience or demonstrated expertise and quality performance in all levels of the Teller job function as well as demonstrated leadership skills. Additional responsibilities will include branch operational responsibilities including vault and cash management duties, as well as potentially coaching and mentoring other tellers.
Education : High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience : Cash handling, sales, customer service; previous banking experience preferred.
Specific knowledge : Good interpersonal skills, good computer skills, ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Training requirements include : The SouthState Way New Team Member Orientation, Teller Foundations, and all assigned regulatory compliance training. Acknowledgement of all policies through DocuSign as assigned. Additional training may be required dependent upon experience.
Physical demands include : ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to stand and / or sit for long periods of time. Ability to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers.
Work environment is most likely in an open lobby area with an individual workstation, located inside a cooled and heated facility with ability to go to a break room or rest room during breaks.
Travel may be required to come to meetings or training as needed.
