Summary
Reporting to the Sr. QA Manager the Quality Assurance Manager ensures that all products meet or exceed quality and regulatory standards. This role supports continuous quality improvement initiatives oversees quality assurance and quality control programs and ensures compliance with all company customer and regulatory requirements.
This facility is a modern high-end production environment recognized as a leading food manufacturing operation within the industry.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 3 years managing Quality and Food Safety operations preferably in a sous-vide or cooked food manufacturing environment
Minimum 2 years managing QA / QC staff
Education & Skills
Bachelors degree in Food Science or a closely related field
SQF Practitioner Certificate preferred
Completed HACCP training ; able to implement and maintain HACCP-based food safety plans
Strong understanding of SQF Standards
Excellent written verbal and organizational skills
Proficient in MS Office
Job Responsibilities Quality Systems & SOP Management
Participate in creating updating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Perform daily Quality Control tasks aligned with established procedures.
Monitor food processing operations to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards.
Regulatory Compliance & Audits
Support audits conducted by USDA FDA Health Department Military Veterinary Command third-party certifiers and customers.
Prepare for and lead customer and regulatory audits.
Maintain QA programs compliant with SQF food safety and quality codes .
Ensure the plant operates in alignment with federal regulations customer standards and BRC requirements.
HACCP & SQF Program Oversight
Implement and maintain HACCP-based food safety systems.
Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of SQF Food Safety and Quality Codes .
Oversee prerequisite programs such as sanitation supplier approval pest control environmental monitoring product testing and allergen management.
Quality Control & Assurance
Perform release inspections for incoming materials in-process products and finished goods.
Review production and QC records; verify corrective actions when needed.
Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformities; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership
Supervise train and evaluate Quality Control staff.
Organize team workloads and ensure continuous coverage.
Provide technical support to internal departments and customer-facing teams.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Write and manage nonconformance investigations and corrective action plans.
Support calibration and preventive maintenance initiatives.
Communicate quality program updates across the facility and verify proper implementation.
Make recommendations to senior quality leadership to improve product quality and process control.
General
Maintain all written programs and policies including HACCP.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
