Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join their small, friendly team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, thrives during busy tax seasons, and values collaboration while working independently.

Tax Preparer Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual, business, and trust / estate tax returns.

The Tax Preparer will organize, analyze, and verify client tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, and K-1s.

Perform tax research and ensure compliance with IRS and state regulations.

Assist senior accountants / CPAs with extensions, estimated payments, and filings.

The Tax Preparer will communicate proactively with clients to obtain missing or corrected documents.

The Tax Preparer will maintain accuracy, organization, and attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications of the Tax Preparer Role :

Minimum of 2 years' experience in tax preparation; public accounting experience is a plus.

Strong knowledge of individual and business tax returns.

CPA license is a plus, but not required.

Reliable, consistent, and able to work independently.

Effective communicator who can manage client follow-ups.

Team player with a proactive, "go-getter" attitude.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
