- Position Summary
We are seeking a
- Litigation Associate Attorney (3-5 years of experience)
- to join our expanding Trust & Estate Litigation Division.
This role is ideal for a motivated litigator who wants to grow and manage meaningful cases, and develop into a senior or partner-track attorney in a professional, system-driven environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Manage trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation matters.
- Draft petitions, complaints, motions, discovery, and other pleadings.
- Conduct and respond to discovery; prepare for depositions and hearings.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences under supervision.
- Collaborate with paralegals and docketing staff to maintain deadlines and compliance.
- Participate in client meetings and strategy sessions.
- Contribute to improving firm workflows and client service.
- Qualifications
- Required :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience (civil, probate, or trust).
- Excellent written, oral, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with California Rules of Court and probate procedure.
- Strong communication and teamwork mindset.
- Preferred :
- Experience handling contested trust or probate petitions.
- Knowledge of fiduciary accountings or financial elder abuse actions.
- Desire for mentorship, leadership development, and long-term growth.
- Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary : $165,000 - $195,000 (commensurate with experience).
- Performance Bonus : Up to 20% of base salary based on measurable metrics :
- 70% - Collections (net revenue billed and collected)
- 20% - Originations (new client revenue generated)
- 10% - Team Engagement and Leadership (collaboration, mentoring, reliability)
- Total earning potential : $198,000 - $234,000 per year.

- Work Environment
- Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 30 PM.
- Location : Primarily in-office at our Orinda headquarters, with hybrid flexibility after onboarding.
