Sunshine Pediatric Day Center is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The Occupational Therapist will support pediatric patients with physical, developmental, or emotional challenges by utilizing therapeutic, daily living activities to enhance their independence and quality of life. This role is critical in promoting each childs ability to thrive in both home and community environments.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Observe patients performing tasks and gather relevant medical and personal information through direct interaction and family input.
• Review and analyze each patient's medical history to inform therapeutic planning.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders, identifying measurable goals and interventions.
• Implement treatment plans and communicate significant observations and progress with the nursing team.
• Engage pediatric patients with disabilities in therapeutic activities, such as structured play, to promote developmental growth.
• Educate and coach family members on strategies to accommodate and support the patients care and development at home.
• Recommend and provide training on the use of adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs and feeding aids.
• Complete and submit statements of medical necessity to assist families in acquiring required equipment.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient records; ensure timely submission of evaluations and documentation.
• Participate actively in patient care conferences and maintain consistent communication with families to support collaborative care.
• Document and submit daily billing for services rendered through the PPEC EMR system.
• Track and report patient activities, outcomes, and treatment effectiveness to physicians and the PPEC nursing team.
• Adhere strictly to PPEC policies, procedures, and compliance standards; promptly report any concerns related to patient care to the supervising authority.
• In the event of resignation, provide a 30-day written notice to ensure continuity of care and adequate training for successor therapists.
